Today was a good day. I stayed on track. But I'm definitely eager for some carbs tomorrow! I'm also starting to feel more like myself again. I'm less sluggish, and I feel better during my workouts. It's amazing what a difference a few pounds and better food choices makes.
My carbs for today were going to be super low if I hadn't grabbed those cookies at work. I was also going to be super low on calories, since I skipped my morning protein shake. Note to self: do not do that! I need the extra food in the morning, so I don't go off the rails.
I lost another 2.6 pounds this week! I'm very excited to be seeing immediate progress. I'm on track to reach my goal!
I also spent a little time today look at more Carb Cycling videos. Some of them are really extreme! One says that your High Carb day should be 2-2.5g of carbs per pound of body weight. There is no way I could eat that much unless I shoved myself with fast food! And even then, I don't think I'd reach it! I think perhaps, you should use your goal weight, or a healthy weight for you height? That would make more sense to me. Because holy crap.
Another video that was interesting to me used the ratio method that I'm using. However, their ratios were 40-55-5! I'm using 40-40-20. Just for fun, I tried to see how low I could get my fat for the day, but by lunch time I gave up, because...fat is everywhere! I honestly thought I would struggling keeping my carbs within the limits, but it's the fat that's getting the best of me!
I tried to think of no/low fat foods right off the top of my head and this is what I came up with: jelly beans, maple syrup, brown rice, sweet potato, nonfat Greek yogurt. I need to do some research into low fat foods for my High Carb days.
I'm sticking to my current cycle for one more week. Then I'm going to decrease my calories and adjust my macros a bit.
Today ended up being more of a "Moderate Carb" day, even though my percentages are nearly spot on! The total grams of each are all way up. I was super hungry. Maybe because yesterday was leg day? I don't know, but I was starving all day.
I had a pretty good food day! I didn't go crazy, but I basically ate what I wanted, when I wanted. My macros weren't quite where they should have been, but at least I was still lower on carbs, but of course, higher than my low carb days.
